Upon This Rock Campaign
Matthew 16:18

Our Vision
We believe the Lord is leading us to build a worship facility that serves as a vibrant hub for spiritual growth, community connection, and outreach. Our desire is for this building to be a place where lives are transformed by the Holy Spirit—where believers gather to encounter God through worship, teaching, and fellowship, while also equipping ministry leaders. Through this new facility, we aim to further our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the Roanoke Valley and around the world.

Why is this building important?
This building will provide a dedicated space for worship, discipleship, and fellowship throughout the week, serve as a home for our youth, and create a launching point for us to impact our community and the world with the gospel.
How much will this building cost?
The full cost is estimated at approximately $6 million, including furnishings, based on budget discussions with contractors.
- There is a missionary team called Constructors for Christ (CfC) that will be partnering with our church during the summer of 2026 to complete the project.
How much money needs to be pledged to move forward with this project?
Our Capital Campaign goal is $1 million over two years.
- The $1 million goal is based on our anticipated needs after considering the savings we will receive from Constructors for Christ as well as the funds available in our building fund and the loan amount for which we have been approved.
How do I get involved with the Capital Campaign?
You may fill out a Pledge Card at any time. They are available at our Connection Center on Sunday mornings.
- Pledge cards allow us to more accurately plan and budget for this building project by knowing the potential funds available over the next two years.
- Pledge Cards allow you to commit to a 1-time gift or a recurring monthly gift.
If you would like to participate, but do not feel called to submit a Pledge Card, you may still give to our building fund at any time.
How do I give my 1-time or monthly gifts?
You may give online through our website/app. There is a specific fund that you may select titled, “Building Fund”.
You may give in person using cash/checks. Be sure to indicate “Building Fund” on your check and/or offering envelope.
For additional ways to give, visit our website, swroanoke.com/giving.
How will this building project and loan payments affect the budget?
There will be no disruption in ministry operations as our leadership team has already planned for an increase in the budget.

Who are Constructors for Christ (CfC)?
CfC is a non-profit Christian group of professional tradesmen that travel every summer to new church building sites and provide free construction services and labor. After several discussions with SWCC, they selected our church for the summer of 2026.
- They are an established group that has been in ministry for over 40 years. Their supervisor, Ray Dilbeck, has been involved in these projects for many years. Ray will be here throughout the project to coordinate the process.
- Each week, over a five-week period, a new group of tradesmen will arrive to perform their field of work, like framing and rough in, including wood studs, sheetrock, electrical and other interior construction.
